{"id":2097,"date":"2019-07-24T12:32:09","date_gmt":"2019-07-24T09:32:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/2020.sustainabilityreport2018.helpe.gr\/introduction\/"},"modified":"2022-07-24T19:23:21","modified_gmt":"2022-07-24T16:23:21","slug":"methodology","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sustainabilityreport2021.helpe.gr\/en\/methodology\/","title":{"rendered":"Report Methodology"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Report Methodology<\/h3>\n<p>Welcome to the 17th Sustainability &amp; Corporate Responsibility Report of the HELLENIC PETROLEUM Group, which presents the Group\u2019s performance in environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) topics for the period from 01.01.2021 to 31.12.2021.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2005, the HELLENIC PETROLEUM Group has been publishing an annual Sustainability &amp; Corporate Responsibility Report, with the aim of better informing and communicating with its stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>Our approach is aligned with the Group\u2019s mission and values, and reflects the responsible way in which we treat the health and safety of our employees and the wider society, the ethical and transparent business practices, the environmentally sustainable operations, the working environment and the value creation for our stakeholders.<\/p>\n<div class=\"summary_test align-center\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-13644\" src=\"https:\/\/sustainabilityreport2021.helpe.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2022\/07\/41-evros-en.svg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" \/><\/div>\n<h3>Scope<\/h3>\n<p>The data stated in the Report are consolidated at Group level, with minor exceptions in certain areas, as stated in the respective parts of the Report. In selecting the Group\u2019s companies included in this Report, the following were taken into account:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the list of companies included in the Group\u2019s consolidated financial statements (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.helpe.gr\/en\/investor-relations\/quarterly-results\/annual-interim-financial-reports\/\">Annual Financial Report for Fiscal Year 2021<\/a>, pp. 304-309 and<\/li>\n<li>the materiality assessment study concerning ESG topics (see <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainabilityreport2021.helpe.gr\/en\/materiality-study\/#ousiastika-themata-esg\">Materiality Map<\/a>, p. 23) in accordance with a set of selection criteria, such as participation rate and control, impact and risks, volume of sales and number of employees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>More specifically, the information and data included in the present Report refer to the following companies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1. ELPE FUTURE S.A.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Sustainability Standards<\/h3>\n<p>For the purpose of compiling this Report, the following have been applied:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the principles of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC),<\/li>\n<li>the 2021 GRI Standards and the GRI 11 Oil &amp; Gas Sector Standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (in accordance with),<\/li>\n<li>the Communication on Progress Report (Enhanced version) criteria in accordance with the 10 Principles of the United Nations Global Compact (participation in the \u201cEarly Adopters\u201d program).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Also, the Group utilises the updated ATHEX \u201cESG Reporting Guide\u201d (Core, Advanced metrics &amp; Sector-specific metrics) published in 2022, seeking to achieve a more effective communication with investors through high-quality and comparable data. Lastly, it reports its data taking into account the 20 criteria of the Greek Sustainability Code (Level A), developed in the framework of the \u201cSustainable Companies in Greece\u201d Initiative.<\/p>\n<p>The reference tables of the standards followed (<a href=\"https:\/\/sustainabilityreport2021.helpe.gr\/en\/gri-standards\/\">GRI<\/a>, UNGC, <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainabilityreport2021.helpe.gr\/en\/sustainability-standards-and-verification\/esg-athex\/\">ATHEX ESG Guide<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainabilityreport2021.helpe.gr\/en\/sustainability-standards-and-verification\/greek-sustainability-code\/\">Greek Sustainability Code<\/a>) are presented in Annexes I, II, III and IV of the Report, as well as in more detail on the dedicated <a href=\"http:\/\/sustainabilityreport2021.helpe.gr\/en\">website<\/a>. Other useful information and financial data about the Group are presented in the 2021 Annual Report, the Annual Financial Report for Fiscal Year 2021, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.helpe.gr\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Group&#8217;s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"summary_test align-center\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-12524\" src=\"https:\/\/sustainabilityreport2021.helpe.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2022\/07\/40-gri-standards-2021.svg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" \/>\u00a0 <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-12528\" src=\"https:\/\/sustainabilityreport2021.helpe.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2022\/07\/42-early-adopters-en.svg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" \/><\/div>\n<p>All indices, units of measurement, quantities and metrics stated in the Report correspond to measurements and data recorded in accordance with the best available practices, internationally accepted standards and international codes pertaining to the oil and gas industry. There are no differences in measurement methods compared with previous versions. The verification Report can be found in Appendix V of the present Report. The independent body that reviewed the Report certified the \u201cin accordance with\u201d level, as per the requirements of the 2021 GRI Standards, and the fulfilment of the GRI 11 Oil &amp; Gas Sector Standards. Furthermore, the accuracy of the data is ensured through internal validation, audit processes and annual inspections by accredited certification bodies.
